Why I work in the O&P industry: I have always loved working with my hands and working with people. I landed on a carrier that allows me to combine these skills. I entered the field of prosthetics right after college and have been happy with my choice ever since.

Projects: A 20 year old man was recently involved in a motorcycle accident in shich he lost both of his legs above the knee. He had severe scarring and skin grafts. Doctors told him he would not be able to wear artificial limbs and would require multiple surgeries. I evaluated him and we agreed to try some of the new gel lining materials to fashion him a custom lining to accommodate his scarring and grafts. He was able to stand with no pain and no skin irritation. I added knees and feet and assemble and aligned the prosthesis and this young man is now able to walk with prostheses for the first time since his accident.
