The WalkAide System

We just finished test drives of the Walk Aid for three patients with paralysis of the lower leg. All three people currently use braces (AFOs) and wanted to try the electrical nerve stimulation instead of the braces.  The Walk Aid provided toe pickup to prevent the toe from dragging while walking. It can replace the AFO on those patients that meet the criteria for functional nerve stimulation. The Walk Aid consists of a removable calf strap which has all the electronics incorporated into it.

If you would like to find out more about the WalkAide, call us today at (800) 315-9808. We have locations in Santa Rosa, Novato, Eukiah, and Clearlake.

Who is an appropriate candidate for a C-Leg?

The benefits of the C-Leg microprocessor controlled prosthetic knee is that it provides stumble protection and  automatically adjusts to  variable cadences, walking surfaces, and activities. It also allows descending stairs step over step.  Therefore  any above the knee amputee who is at risk for falling due to the prosthetic knee buckling, or who engages in multiple walking activities would benefit from the C Leg.
